IPI partners Police on security expertise

The Blantyre Police Department has expressed satisfaction with the readiness of community security structures to ensure peace during the upcoming elections.

This was evident during a meeting between the Police Community Policing department, the Institute for Policy Interaction (IPI), and security leaders from Blantyre.

A pose after the meeting.

According to Memory Mgeni, South-West Region Community Policing Coordinator, the meeting demonstrated the community’s commitment to strengthening security and promoting peace.

Community members have also been encouraged to serve as ambassadors for peace, reaching out to others to ensure a violence-free election.

Prof Patel stresses a point.

Professor Nandini Patel, IPI Executive Director, thanked the police for their efforts and urged security leaders to maintain peaceful community structures.

The IPI has been conducting a series of engagements on electoral issues, supported by the UNDP under the MESP Project.
