On 4th June 2025, the Institute for Policy Interaction held a panel discussion currently underway at Catholic University of Malawi in Chiradzulu under the MESP Project funded by UNDP.
The panel discussion, was aimed at encouraging eligible youths to vote in the September 16 2025 General Elections.
Panelists included Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Online Editor Sellina Kainja, Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) regional elections manager Jeff Kabondo, governance policy analyst Mavuto Bamusi and governance and elections expert Fannie Nthakomwa.
Earlier on, the Executive Director Prof Nandini Patel urged youths in the country have been advised to follow electoral issues with interest and cast their votes in the September 16 polls, to choose a leader who represents their aspirations.
Patel observed that the 2025 general elections deserve active participation from the citizenry due to the implementation of the new electoral laws and to ensure that they are free, fair and credible.
Vice Chancellor for the Catholic University, Prof Francis Moto said the university was proud to host the event.
He said it is important to host such conversations as Malawi heads to the polls.
According to Moto, it is also vital for the youth to make things happen and vote.
