- With support from the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE), IPI published a book on the 2019 tripartite elections titled Malawi’s 2019 Tripartite Elections: Democracy Tested.
- The Institute for Policy Interaction (Malawi), in collaboration with Michigan State University (United States), Aarhus University (Denmark), and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) (United Kingdom), undertook the Malawi Candidate Survey (MCS) for the 2019 elections. The survey studied the costs of seeking and holding parliamentary office in Malawi. The study focused on the costs associated with running for Parliament.
